We’re just a couple of wrestling fans trying to go to more shows, and take more of our friends to shows.
In mid-2024, we put together a survey to ask people with extra accessibility needs how easy they found it to go to see live wrestling. The answers varied wildly – some people had stories about venue staff who went above and beyond to make sure they were safe and comfortable, others told us horror stories about times they’d felt harassed, humiliated, or unsafe.
The main thing we heard over and over again, though, was that it’s really difficult to find out which venues are accessible and which aren’t. So by doing this, we’re hoping to achieve two things: one, to help people find out which shows they can confidently book tickets for, and two, to raise awareness about which venues and promotions are falling short (and maybe persuade them it’s worth making some changes!)
This is first and foremost a community project – we want to know about your experiences. We can’t personally get to every venue and promotion across the country, and often the true picture doesn’t become clear until you’re actually there in person. So we need your input! All first-hand accounts, positive or negative, are useful to other people considering making a trip.
Wrestling should be for everyone to enjoy. So let’s see if we can’t make things better.
